In November 2018, the Full Federal Court will hear an application for judicial review of the decisions of the Fair Work Commission which approved the merger between the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, the Maritime Union of Australia, and the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Union of Australia.
The new union is called the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMMEU). The merger took effect on 27 March 2018.
The Federal Court application is being pursued by the Australian Mines and Metals Association. Stuart Wood QC is representing AMMA in the proceedings.
