The Fair Work Commission has issued determinations varying 89 modern awards to incorporate a model term dealing with payment of wages on termination of employment. Amongst other aspects, the model term generally requires that an employer must pay an employee no later than seven days after the day on which the employee’s employment terminates. The award variations are operative from 1 November 2018.
